Risograph Artist print 150gsm Munken pure rough off white paperstock

Risograph printing is a unique, high-quality printing process that blends the precision of digital printing with the rich, textured aesthetic of traditional screen printing. It is known for its vibrant colors, eco-friendly soy-based inks, and distinctive layered effect. The method creates soft gradients, organic textures, and bold hues that are impossible to achieve with standard digital printing.

Each print is slightly unique due to the way ink is layered, making Risograph printing ideal for art prints, posters, zines, and limited-edition works.

Print Sizes & Size Restrictions
πŸ“ Standard Print Sizes:

A3 (297 Γ— 420 mm) – Our most popular option, great for posters and art prints.
A4 (210 Γ— 297 mm) – Ideal for small prints, inserts, and flyers.
A5 (148 Γ— 210 mm) – Perfect for postcard-sized prints.
Custom Sizes – We can print custom dimensions within A3 size, but full-bleed printing is not possible.
⚠️ Size Restrictions:

The maximum printable area per sheet is slightly smaller than A3 due to unprintable margins.
Full-bleed printing is NOT possibleβ€”all prints will have a slight border unless trimmed down post-printing.
Large solid blocks of color may show slight ink inconsistencies due to the way Risograph ink is absorbed by the paper.
Possible Print Variations & Errors
Risograph printing has a distinctive handmade quality, and minor variations are a natural part of the process. These characteristics contribute to the charm and uniqueness of each print. However, here are some potential quirks to be aware of:

🎨 Color Variations – Each print run may have subtle shifts in color density, especially when printing in multiple layers. Some colors may appear slightly darker or lighter across the batch.

Currently we have these colours below to trial:
Medium Blue,
Yellow,
Red,
Flat Gold,
Fluorescent Pink,
Mint

πŸ“ Misregistration – Since each color is printed separately, slight shifts (0.5mm–2mm) between color layers may occur, creating a misaligned or "vibrating" effect. This is especially noticeable in fine details or overlapping colors.

πŸ–‹ Ink Transfer & Smudging – Risograph ink is soy-based and does not fully dry like digital toner. It remains slightly delicate to the touch and may smudge if handled roughly. Large solid ink areas may transfer slightly onto the back of the next sheet when stacked.

πŸ“„ Paper Absorption – The ink sits on top of the paper rather than being absorbed like in digital or offset printing. This can result in slight texture variations and areas where the ink appears more or less saturated depending on the paper stock.

πŸ” Roller Marks & Ghosting – Occasionally, faint roller marks or "ghosting" (a faint duplicate of an image appearing elsewhere on the print) may occur due to ink build-up on the drum.

Who is Risograph Printing Best For?
βœ”οΈ Artists, designers, and illustrators who love bold, expressive colors and an organic feel.
βœ”οΈ Limited-edition prints, zines, and handmade books.
βœ”οΈ Prints that embrace slight variations rather than requiring precise, sterile perfection.

❌ Not suitable for:

Exact Pantone color matching.
Precision alignment and sharp photographic detail.
