5 recipes from local restaurants Tonka, The Crown, Bayte, Basils Fungi Farm and Bracken Books all whose mushrooms are supplied by the amazing mushroom farmer Basils Fungi Farm. The book contains tips on how to store and cook your mushrooms too, all illustrations are by Annie Mackin.
Basils Fungi Farm is a neighbour of us here at Bracken Books. Bracken books co wrote and published this book with Robbie of Basils Mushroom Farm and hope for it to be a long running collaboration as we are big fans of all the recipes in this book and everything he grows.
Basil’s Fungi Farm is a sustainably run mushroom farm based in the centre of Hastings. All of our mushrooms are grown indoors using sustainable techniques. Our mushrooms are grown on hardwood sawdust from local sawmills, the sawdust is sterilised before being mixed with different mycelium cultures and left to incubate until its ready to move. We grow native varitites when possible.
In collaboration with Bracken Books this book has been written as a guide to cooking and storing your mushrooms.
